thrown out preferences from user library (there is only an "unresolved" prefs file in folder now since Quicken won't open) - also tried moving preferences from b/u. I will gladly buy another copy if I were sure it would open and function, but since I have 2 versions that used to work perfectly, I am suspicious that a reinstall won't work either - that the system is rejecting it somehow. I don't have the original disc since I bought this computer used and loaded with 2006 and I owned 2004 because it came with Jaguar. I am wondering if something similar has happened here. ![]() Looking online for clues, I noticed someone mentioned a previous O/S update reclassifying Quicken as a classic app, thus making it impossible to open in Snow Leopard. I really need to be able to open Quicken to access these files - or, apparently, even to export them to another accounting program. I had used it with no problem only a couple of weeks before to update investment records and my small business's bookkeeping. Any file and both apps immediately crash. ![]() Suddenly, as of last Thursday when I tried to open a Quicken 2006 file, I have not been able to open either Quicken 2004 or 2006.
